Do Older backhoe have registration or titles?

I recently came into a ford backhoe from a recent death in my family. I dont know how old it is but I do know its older then 10-15 years old. Maybe older, However I didnt recieve a title or any type of registration for the backhoe.
I want to make sure everything is up and up. What do I have to do to find out who it is registered to. OR does that not matter is it the “Bill or sale” thats important.
